San Ardo Crude Terminal

Project Description

Our team delivered engineering and design services for the construction of three new truck loading bays and facility infrastructure modifications at ExxonMobil Pipeline Company (EMPCo)’s San Ardo crude oil loading facility in Monterey County, CA. This project aimed to accommodate circulation and loads of up to 16,000 barrels per day of 11º American Petroleum Institute (API) gravity crude oil to each truck loading position.

The $11.5 million project facilitated the transition from railcar loading operations to truck loading, enabling the efficient transport of heavy crude oil from nearby production fields to local refineries and pipeline operations. This strategic upgrade enhanced operational capabilities, and also aligned with industry standards and safety regulations, contributing to the overall efficiency of EMPCo’s San Ardo facility.
