Key Responsibilities:

• Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience.
• Develop structural engineering plans, design, and layout.
• Provide drawings and/or sketches for designs to be incorporated in construction drawings by drafters; review shop drawings.
• Serve as the responsible engineer for projects; sign and seal structural drawings.
• Research design options.
• Prepare load combination drawings and tables for structure manufacturers.

• Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering design documents.
• Attend and participate in project meetings.
• Perform field activities—observation of construction progress and existing field conditions.
• Effectively communicate project progress and issues to the design team and maintain communication with the team members throughout the course of the project.
• Capable of managing and performing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Calculate structure heights and weights, concrete volumes, equipment fit-up, and ad hoc tasks.
• Cost estimating, including take-offs and getting quotes.

Capabilities and Credentials:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering.
• Registered Engineer (P.E.)
• Minimum of 8 years relevant experience supporting oil & gas or similar heavy industrial projects.
• Limited travel and fieldwork will be required.
• Proficiency with RISA 3D, RISA Foundation, LPILE, TEKLA/TEDDS, HILTI, and Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Our corporate headquarters is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with experience planning, organizing, and developing engineering activities for the construction and maintenance of water, wastewater treatment, and energy plants and facilities. This position will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead projects from start to finish.
• Planning personal daily tasks and the work of other team members.
• Manage budget and schedule for the project’s resources and deliverables.
• Participate in or lead squad check drawing package reviews.
• Be able to read, interpret, and check vendor E&I drawings and vendor catalogs.
• Travel independently to and conduct site surveys to document electrical, instrumentation, and controls at existing client sites and facilities (up to 10%)

Capabilities and Credentials:

• A minimum of 8 years of engineering design experience supporting oil and gas and heavy industrial projects.
• Four-year engineering degree from an accredited university.
• Registered Professional Engineer (by exam) or capable of getting PE within 18 months.
• Extensive working knowledge and understanding of the latest version of the National Electrical Code, especially hazardous locations.
• Working knowledge of relevant standards: UL, API, NFPA, IEEE, NEMA.
• Proficient in interfacing with 480 V & below power electrical equipment (MCC & motor controls, transformers, ASDs, etc.) and calculations for conduit fill, voltage drop, sizing of transformers, conductors, panelboards, breakers, etc.
• Understanding of power system studies using EasyPower, SKM or ETAP.
• Experience with wiring diagrams, electrical interconnects, panel layouts, junction box design, PLC cabinet design, plot plans, loop diagrams, I/O lists, P&IDs, cable/conduit schedules, panelboard schedules, and electrical and instrument installation details.
• Minimal supervision on scope development and technical details.
• Proficient in MS Word & Excel in creating documents from scratch.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills: Work with clients one-on-one.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Excellent mentoring skills to help train less experienced designers and engineers.

Our Denver office is looking for a Mechanical Process Engineer with five to ten years of experience related to projects within the Oil and Gas industry. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and will lead engineering efforts in the mechanical and process design areas as part of a multi-office design team.

Key Responsibilities:

Assignments will have leadership and oversight of Piping Designers as well as interface with Project Managers to fulfill project requirements.

• Create and develop a project design basis, PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment layout drawings from concept through approval.
• Develop process simulation models using Aspen HYSYS
• Develop Steady State Hydraulic Modeling for liquids and gases for use in pipe sizing and pump selection.
• Develop specifications, data sheets, drawing requirements for a complete RFQ package, approve vendor supplied drawings and data for equipment packages including pumps, compressors, meter skids, pressure vessels, tanks, pig traps, control valves, and motor operated valves.
• Develop technical bid evaluations and make recommendations on specific equipment and components.
• Development of construction scopes of work to be utilized with construction bid packages.
• Coordinate with Piping Designers and other disciplined designers in the development of project 3-D models as well as interdisciplinary reviews.
• Review and selection of piping specifications.
• Participate in HAZOP/PHA reviews, client drawings, and design reviews in accordance with industry codes and Company policies.

Capabilities and Credentials:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
• Registered Engineer (P.E.) is preferred or the ability to obtain a license.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience supporting oil & gas projects.
• Must have a working knowledge of Aspen HYSYS.
• Experience creating PFDs and P&IDs is required.
• Knowledge of Code of Federal Register (CFR), Parts 192 and 195 as well as B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8; experience and/or certification as a facilitator is a plus.
• Knowledge of pipeline surge analysis, Stoner or Pipesim is a plus.
• The ability to work on two or more interdisciplinary projects at once while effectively managing time and prioritizing project deliverables.

• Closely teamwork with other members of the project team with a willingness to take on more responsibilities as your experience evolves.
• Work closely with design leads and engineers in recommending the best use of CAD tools to achieve project objectives, and troubleshoot and resolve issues with CAD tools.
• Perform thorough quality control edits (red lines) of construction documents as directed by the design team and utilizing the correct project and/or company standards.
