ME2X Valve Sites & Pump Stations
Project Description
AEDES provided engineering and design services for a significant project involving the construction of a 16-inch pipeline running parallel to the Mariner East 2 Pipeline. This new pipeline was designed to transport natural gas liquids (NGL) from the Pittsburgh area to the Marcus Hook refining facility in Marcus Hook, PA. The purpose of the pipeline was to facilitate both domestic distribution and export of NGL.
Our engineering and design services played a critical role in ensuring the seamless integration of the new pipeline into the existing infrastructure, meeting safety standards, and facilitating the efficient transportation of natural gas liquids to the Marcus Hook refining facility.
The scope of the project included the engineering and design of 41 valve sites situated along the pipeline route. These valve sites comprised both manual and automated systems to ensure precise control and monitoring capabilities. Additionally, upgrades were required for five pump stations, involving the installation of pig traps, metering skids, and enhancements to electrical distribution systems.
Our engineering and design services played a critical role in ensuring the seamless integration of the new pipeline into the existing infrastructure, meeting safety standards, and facilitating the efficient transportation of natural gas liquids to the Marcus Hook refining facility.
