Delaware River Crossing
Project Description
Our team provided a comprehensive suite of services, including engineering, design, permitting, construction management (CM), and post-construction support for the $54 million project involving the replacement and relocation of a 3.5-mile-long, 8-inch natural gas pipeline owned by Paulsboro Natural Gas Pipeline Company (PNGPC). The necessity for this project arose from the damage caused to the existing 8-inch pipeline during dredging operations by a contractor. The relocation was essential to accommodate the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)’s expansion of the navigation channel and to enhance maintenance activities.
The replacement effort included the installation of a new 24-inch pipeline, commencing at an existing meter junction situated northwest of the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) in Tinicum Township. The pipeline traversed the Delaware River before concluding on the property of the Paulsboro Refining Company (PRC). Our involvement spanned from the initial stages of engineering and design through the permitting process, construction management, and extended to post-construction support.
