Allegheny Access
Project Description
AEDES delivered design and comprehensive construction-phase services for a substantial project involving an approximately 160-mile-long natural gas liquids pipeline stretching from Tiffin, OH, to Vanport, PA. Executed in two phases for Sunoco Logistics, the project included the recommissioning of the Inland Line to facilitate deliveries to Mogadore, OH.
In Phase I, we installed 80 miles of new 12-inch piping, with necessary repairs to the existing portions. Phase II involved increasing the rate from Cedar Point to Mogadore to 80,000 barrels per day and installing a new 79-mile line from Mogadore to Vanport. Numerous facility upgrades were also implemented.
Our services covered a broad spectrum, encompassing a front-end engineering design study, estimates, environmental and right-of-way permitting, final engineering design, and construction-phase design support, along with environmental inspection and reporting. The project adhered to post-construction stream and wetland monitoring and mitigation, meeting the standards set by the Ohio EPA and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Remarkably, mitigation efforts and corridor restoration resulted in a net gain in wetland acreage, leading to the Ohio EPA releasing the monitoring requirement two years ahead of schedule. This project showcased our expertise in managing large-scale pipeline projects while prioritizing environmental compliance and sustainability.
